Trendsetters currently focuses on 5th and 6th grade students at schools throughout the Metro Phoenix area. The Trendsetters Through Education Foundation provides curriculum, training and additional resources that support teachers and caring adults as they create and sustain Trendsetters clubs. This model also allows facilitators and clubs to personalize their activities by incorporating their own interests, talents and community needs.

Hold a Kicking Up Kindness Campaign
Kicking up Kindness was the idea of Marjon Brady-Brown, former Miss Rodeo USA. Marjon shared her idea with Trendsetters and now you can share it in your home, your school and/or your community.
Create your own plans and use some of the following trendsetting approaches:
1) make posters
2) add your messages to school announcements
3) catch people being kind and compliment them
4) make paper chain links - each link can describe a kind act
5) fill a box with kindness - all students/neighbors can write about a kind act they've done or plan to do
6) plan a special kind act for someone and show kindness to all ~ if you see someone who is sad, offer your kindness
7) sell Kicking Up Kindness grams (raise money for your club service projects or make a donation to a charity you want to support)
8) make door hangers with kind messages (you can make your own or purchase pre-cut door hangers to decorate at paper good stores)
9) write a thank you letter to someone who has been kind to you ~ if possible, read the letter out loud to them
10) write a personal kindness commitment ~ sign it and date it to remind yourself of important role in creating positive change wherever you are (remember to put this in your Trendsetters Portfolio!)
What else can you think of to do? How can you use your talents, strengths and resources for Kicking Up Kindness? Your creativity and willingness to take action can change the climate of your home, your school and your community.
